Classroom rules and procedures are important for the classroom to run smoothly. They are put into place so that there is order and everyone is in a safe environment. Below I have provided the classroom rules and procedures with the consequences and motivators. My personal teaching philosophy and management philosophy can be found on the tab above, off of classroom management tab.
Classroom Rules
Within the first week of school, classroom expectation sheets will be given to you and then sent home for the parents to sign. I will have already established the rules for the classroom instead of having the students help me. I think that having the rules done by the teacher gives more structure and order for how the room is run. I will be enforcing the rules each day to ensure that the management of the classroom is maintained.
The following rules for the all classes:
1. Be Responsible
· Take care of all materials like they are your own
· Be on time and ready for class
2. Be Respectful
· Do not disturb others
· Raise your hand
· Work together
· Listen to your peers
3. Keep Focused
· Follow directions
· Participate in class
4. Be Creative
· Share your ideas
· Don’t give up
Homework:
· Homework will be assigned daily
· You are expected to complete all assignments, quizzes, and projects
· Homework will be collected at the beginning of each class period by the teacher
Absences:
· You are responsible for making up any work missed due to absences
· You must complete all work for the time they are absent
· Arrangements will be made for make-up tests and quizzes
Rewards/Consequences
Rewards/Consequences have been put into place to ensure that the rules and procedures are followed. When following the rules there will be positive rewards, but if the rules are not followed there are consequences. Math and Science have specific rewards that can be obtained. Attached here is also the printable rules and rewards/consequences form.
All Class Rewards:

These points help the you to say on track and to have good behavior and grades.

Classroom Procedures
1. Entering the room: Enter quietly and politely; remove your hat if you're wearing one; don't interrupt other students; follow the appropriate procedures for each time of day (e.g., morning, after lunch, after a special class).
2. Lining up: Stand up quietly; push in your chair; take all necessary items; line up without touching others or talking; face the front of the line; watch where you are going.
3. Leaving the room: Tell me where you are going; take the correct hall pass; do not run or play in the hallways or restrooms.
4. Beginning the day in homeroom: Enter the room politely; put away your backpack, lunch, and coat; turn in your homework; sit at your desk and read alone or do before-school work silently.
5. Ending the day in homeroom: Clean off your desk; leave out your work notebook; pick up any trash within three feet of your desk; stack your chair; collect your mail; wait quietly to be dismissed.
6. Bathroom Breaks: Bathroom breaks will be given during specific times of the day.
7. Homework: Homework will be collected by the teacher at the beginning of each class (ie. math, science, social studies). Be sure to have the homework with you because you can not go back to your homeroom to get it.
